Neither is objectively better. It comes down to your build and your day. Briefs give a snug, minimal, classic feel and sit cleanly under dress pants. Boxer briefs give more coverage and stop inner-thigh chafe. If you're not sure, a short boxer brief suits the most men as a starting point.
When to choose each
- Briefs if you like minimal coverage and maximum support, or wear a lot of fitted trousers.
- Short boxer briefs as the versatile all-rounder that stays cool and stays put.
- Long boxer briefs if you're taller or bigger, run warm, or get thigh chafe.
Don't forget the fabric
Style handles the fit; fabric handles the comfort. Whatever you pick, look for a dual-layer wicking system to stay dry, Dribble Guard Technology® for the occasional dribble, and OEKO-TEX® certification. Ours has all three across every style, all $32 except Onyx at $35.
